Long Creek WineryWe played at an event, actually the first event, at the Long Creek Winery last weekend. Such a beautiful setting with a pond behind the stage that is open for fishing, large grassy area under huge oaks, local food & excellent wine, and of course music! We couldn't have gotten luckier with the weather, warm & clear, perfect. Toby & Jenn & The Bertagnas will certainly be holding more events soon, so please keep an ear open and plan to bring the family out! They also raise certified organice miniature cattle so you know where to go for your beef! We can vouch for the quality, absolutely tasty and heathy eating! Local VenuesWe played at two local events yesterday and for the first time got to play with both Victor and Hal! What fun, they traded off playing banjo and what a treat to hear Hal play guitar and Victor play mandolin. I have to say they are equally as talented on those instruments! There is an event happening this weekend called the Sierra Oro Farm Trail Passport Weekend. You can buy a ticket and then tour all of the local wineries and farms in our area. We got to play at the Long Creek Winery in Oroville. Really beautiful place surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and citrus orchards. The wine wasn't bad too so we went in on a case ;) Later in the day we played for the N. California Regional Land Trust's Harvest Dinner, food by Blush Catering. Delicious and a beautiful event under huge oaks at the Llano Seco Ranch. Hellman-Erhman MansionWe had the great pleasure of playing at a wedding held at the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion in Lake Tahoe last weekend. If you have not driven up for a tour of this gorgeous piece of CA history, you must! I think we will. The Rainbow Connection, which we learned for their ceremony processional, was a big hit! Who would have thought that I'd get to play one of my favorite songs from childhood for this lovely couple? They even asked us to play it again for their first dance together... so sweet those two :) We wish you both, Alan & Liz, the very best in your future together! Take a second to look at the beautiful pictures that Teresa K Photography took of the wedding. She is an amazing photographer and a really easy going sweet person. If you have a wedding coming up, do consider her, she is out of Folsom, CA. CYBERGRASS http://www.cybergrass.com/node/1639 WeddingsHello Everyone! Rock Ridge has been busy playing at Corporate Events, Private Parties & Weddings this summer. What fun they are! Take a second and read a recent review left by our most recent client in Glen Ellen, CA (near Napa)www.gigmasters.com/bluegrass-band/Rock-Ridge-Bluegrass-Band/. Beautiful place, perfect weather and even a distant lightning storm (nice for effect, but not for fires in the mountains..). Fun was had by all! We are gearing up for another wedding in S. Lake Tahoe and practicing a few new tunes requested by the bride and groom. We're excited to be playing our third event with the amazing Sacramento banjo player, Hal Horn! He is one of the best on the West Coast and has been a real pleasure to play with. He's been filling in for Victor lately while he finishes up a busy summer! We'll be returning to the studio in the next month when schedules free up and kids are back in school to finish our 2nd CD. Hope you've all had a great summer! Welcome Karen!!We're very excited to welcome our new booking manager, Karen Rose to the band! Father's Day Bluegrass FestivalHi Everyone! Forest Ranch Charter SchoolHowdy Folks! WeddingsWhat a treat it is to be a part of a couple's wedding! Thank you Jackie & Brian for inviting Rock Ridge to play at your wedding last weekend, it was absolutely beautiful! The setting was perfect at a local ranch in their huge rustic old barn with long billowing white curtains at the doors. Gorgeous sunset, peacocks echoing in the distance and the sounds of celebration, quite an evening :) |
